Booking
Can I book on this website?
Not directly — there is no online checkout here. Send us your dates on WhatsApp, and the desk replies with what is free and the rate.
Can I book on Hostelworld or Booking.com instead?
Yes. The hostel is listed on both, and they show live availability and their own terms. Book wherever suits you.
Why don’t you show prices?
Rates change with dates, room type and season, and we would rather give you a real number than an old one. Ask on WhatsApp or check the booking platforms.
What is the cancellation policy?
It depends on where and which rate you book; each platform shows its terms before you pay. For a direct booking, ask the desk for the conditions before you confirm.
How do I pay?
The listings disagree — one says cash only, another mentions dollars, euros or PayPal. Ask the desk which methods work right now, and carry some Colombian pesos just in case.
Is the hostel officially registered?
Yes. It is registered as a hostal in Colombia’s National Tourism Registry (RNT 20643), and the registry lists it as active.

Getting here & arriving
Where exactly are you?
Carrera 10 #12-33, on the top floors of the building with the BBVA bank, right on San Gil’s main square (Parque La Libertad).
What are check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is from 15:00 until midnight, and check-out is until 11:00.
I arrive after midnight. Is that OK?
The front desk is listed as 24-hour, but message us with your arrival time first so someone is ready to open the door.
How do I get here from the bus station?
From the main terminal, a short taxi ride to the main square does it. Guests coming from the town-centre bus stop say they walked it in about five minutes. Tell us where you are arriving and we will point you the right way.
Can I drop my bags before check-in?
Yes, luggage storage is free. Guests also mention leaving bags after check-out while they explore.
Do you have a lift?
No lift is listed, and guests mention lots of stairs. If stairs are hard for you, message us before booking.

Rooms
What kinds of rooms are there?
Four: beds in a 4-bed dorm, a double with shared bathroom, a double with private bathroom, and the Deluxe (double + single bed, private bathroom, A/C) for two or three.
Which rooms have air-conditioning?
Only the Deluxe is listed with A/C. The dorms and the standard doubles have fans.
Is it noisy?
Rooms facing the square hear traffic and music, sometimes early. If you sleep light, ask for an interior room and pack earplugs.
Are towels and sheets included?
Bed linen is included. Guests mention getting a towel too, but the listings disagree, so ask when you book.
Why do the booking sites show “Deluxe Double” and “Deluxe Triple”?
It is the same Deluxe room type, sold for two or for three people. Pick the one that matches your group.

Pool, kitchens & the rest
How big is the pool?
Small — a round rooftop pool for cooling off, with a view of the mountains. It is not heated.
Is the sauna working?
Yes, guests used it throughout 2026. Ask the desk about the hours.
Is breakfast included?
No. You get two shared kitchens and free morning coffee, and the market is close by.
Is there parking?
Yes, private parking for cars, motorbikes and bicycles. Car spaces depend on availability, so tell us in advance; motorbikes need no notice. The entrance is narrow, and listings disagree on cost, so ask.
Is the Wi-Fi good enough to work?
Guests who work remotely say it is fast and reliable, and there are quiet corners to sit in. It is free.
Can I do laundry?
Yes, laundry is available for an extra charge. Ask the desk how it works.

Adventures & tours
Can I book activities at the hostel?
Yes. The desk helps you book rafting, paragliding, canyoning and more with local operators. Each activity page has the details.
Who runs the activities?
Specialist local companies, not the hostel. Ask the desk which operator you will go with and what your trip includes.
Is transport or insurance included?
That depends on the operator and the activity. Confirm pickup, insurance and what is included before you pay.
What is tejo night?
Guests talk about group outings to a local court for tejo, Colombia’s explosive throwing game. Ask the desk which night it is on.
Can you help with buses to my next stop?
Yes. The desk helps with routes and bus tickets, from day trips to the next leg of your trip.
